Welcome to Communications Intelligence Quotient (CQ). CQ is a comprehensive qualitative evaluation that is administered as both a self-assessment and 360. It is designed to help people better understand their communication style, expression and adaptability to meet other’s communication needs. Emotional Intelligence assesses your awareness and management of your emotions while DiSC is a personality assessment to aid you in navigating productivity and teamwork. CQ is an adaptation focused solely on communication behavior.
The foundational premise of communications is connection. Communication void of connection is arguably an interaction but certainly not communication. CQ is the product of Communication Style plus Expression multiplied by Communication Adaptability plus Reliability.
CQ is not solely a Communication Style indicator. It is an algorithm of awareness, expression and adaptability. In essence CQ is an overall predictor of communication effectiveness in every area of your life.
As you respond to the statements in the assessment remember the following:
There are no right, wrong, better or worse answers. Try to remove your judgment of the “right social response.” Reply to statements as you are, not as others may wish you to be.
Work swiftly. Your first gut level response is where truth typically resides.
Answer each item honestly based on the past 12 months not the last 2 weeks.
Do not skip any items, as this might nullify your assessment results.
Respond to each item the best way you can based on your understanding of the term, statement or scenario.
